The WPL file format is a file format that you are most probably unfamiliar with, given that it is mostly associated with Windows, and not the other major operating systems. In this guide, we will introduce this file format, as well as showing you how to open it on various devices.

Part 1: What's a WPL file

WPL files are simply playlists of songs or videos that can be played by Windows Media Player. They can be used in Windows Media Player 9.0 and later. However, you can open such files using several other applications that allow users to listen to and view media data. Because WPL is a Microsoft proprietary format to store playlist information, it is not very common on the Android, iPhone and macOS ecosystems. However, we will show you how you can easily open them on those operating systems.

Part 2: How to play WPL file on Android

By default, Android will not natively support WPL playlist files. But the good news is that the Android ecosystem has millions of developers who are working on millions of apps, which should make finding an app that can open WPL files easily. Android apps are also easier to install, and you can get them from the Google Play Store, the developer website or even websites that specialize in Android apps. Another advantage of Android is shared storage, which means once you install the app which opens WPL playlist videos, it will scan the entire storage for them. If you need to transfer more WPL videos which may be contained on your computer, the process is pretty much easy too (you can transfer them through Bluetooth, or through the traditional copy/ paste method using a USB syncing cable).

VLC Mobile is an Android app we would recommend for you if you need to open WPL video playlist files. It is a full port of VLC media player to this platform. What that means is it should open any video or audio container that is supported by the desktop version of VLC, in this case, it should open WPL files without issues. It will support network streaming, including HLS. It will support subtitles, whether they are embedded or external. The coolest feature is the audio equalizer and filter. There are many more features built right into this app. To open WPL playlist files on Android, follow the easy steps below.

Step 1: Download and install VLC Mobile from the Google Play Store, the developer website or any participating distributor.

Step 2: Transfer your WPL videos to the Android device. You can transfer data to an Android device through Bluetooth, or through the traditional copy/ paste method via the USB syncing cable.

Step 3: Open VLC Mobile and refresh it to scan the new content. Once it finishes, you should see all the videos contained on the device in this video player, including your WPL playlist videos.

Part 3: How to play WPL file on iPhone

To open WPL files on iPhone or pretty much any iOS-based operating system, you will need a third-party app that can support this video file format. The reason behind this is iOS does not support WPL videos by default. Many apps are available on the App Store that can easily open the WPL playlist videos for you, for example MX Player mobile, VLC mobile, mPlayer etc. Personally we would highly recommend you try mPlayer, which according to the developer can play almost any media format, without the need for conversion. It uses an efficient hardware acceleration engine so that higher resolution videos can play smoothly.

Moreover, it can play your video files stored in Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive directly within the app. Modbo 4 0 installations. It also supports subtitles in the SRT format, and you can also download subtitles for your videos and movies directly within the app. iOS does not support shared storage, therefore in terms of transferring WPL files from your computer to the iPhone, you can do so through the WiFi direct technology, or through iTunes/ Finder sync depending with the operating system you are using. Therefore, if you wish to open your WPL playlist videos on your iPhone by using mPlayer, follow the easy steps below.

Step 1: Perfectly clear essentials 3 6 3 1515 64. Download and install the app on your iPhone from the Apple App Store. Make sure you have the correct credentials for your iTunes account, and in rare cases they could ask you to provide payment information, therefore have that ready too.

Wpl Player For Mac Windows 7

Step 2: Launch the app. Once you have downloaded the app, launch the app and agree to all user agreements and follow all the onscreen prompts.

Step 3: Transfer your WPL videos. You can do this through iTunes or Finder in the way you would transfer data to apps contained on any iOS device. If you prefer wireless transfers, use the WiFi transfer feature built right into the mPlayer app. You can find it in the settings section of this app.

Step 4: Enjoy your videos. If you follow all the procedures, your WPL playlist videos should transfer to your iPhone successfully. When transferred, they can be opened directly by the mPlayer app.

If you prefer to open all your videos using the native iOS apps, or if it is inconvenient for you to download apps that end up consuming your storage, the best thing for you would be to convert the WPL videos to video formats that are natively supported by iOS (for example MP4 or MOV video). Many software tools can easily do the conversion job for you, but Leawo Video Converter is by far the best solution for you in terms of all your video converting needs.

Part 4: How to play WPL file on both Windows and Mac

WPL is a video format that you may have never heard of, especially when your devices revolve around the Android or macOS operating systems. Even if you are using Windows to which this file format is associated with Windows Media Player, it is not very common to see this extension. In the event that you have videos that are in this file format, you might find your computer failing to open them, particularly if you use macOS. Therefore, we will now introduce free a video player that can easily open WPL files, as well as over 180 other video and audio formats combined.

Leawo Blu-ray Player is that video player, which is also one of the few video players that supports Blu-ray formats, no matter it is from the regions A, B or C, and also DVD discs from region 0 to 6. Leawo Blu-ray Player is 6-in-1 media playing software, that can play any video smoothly even if you are using an older computer for your leisure and enjoyment. In other terms, it will deliver quality-lossless video images with resolutions of 720P, 1080P, 1080i and 4K (2160P), which is achieved through hardware acceleration and other advanced technologies built right into the software.

We are also aware that you would want to enjoy your videos with high-quality audio, and this software supports advanced audio decoding technologies like Dolby, DTS, AAC, TrueHD, DTS-HD (including 5.1, 7.1 channels), etc. Now just follow the steps below for some tips on how to use the software.

Step 1: Open your WPL playlist video files

When you are on the main interface, load any of your videos, DVDs, or Blu-ray movies from the computer by clicking the 'Open File' button. You can also drag the video files into the program, and you should see them listed on the playlist. Make photo smaller file size mac.
